Common questions

What time is the RBA announcement?

2.30pm Sydney time on the second day of the meeting — Tuesday 3 November for the next one — followed by the Governor's media conference at 3.30pm.

How often does the RBA meet?

Eight times a year since 2024, roughly every six weeks. Before 2024 it met eleven times a year, on the first Tuesday of most months.

Where do the odds come from?

From ASX 30-day interbank cash rate futures, which settle on the average cash rate over each month. The rate they imply for the month after a meeting, against today's cash rate, gives the chance of a 25bp move — the same method as the ASX's own RBA Rate Tracker.
