SMP The Statement on Monetary Policy, the RBA's quarterly economic forecasts, is released with the decision at these meetings. Results are the change to the cash rate target; upcoming meetings show the odds ASX futures price for a move at that meeting. Dates from the RBA's board meeting schedule.
2.30pm Sydney time on the second day of each meeting, followed by the Governor's media conference at 3.30pm. For the November meeting, that is 1.30pm in Brisbane, 2pm in Adelaide, 1pm in Darwin and 11.30am in Perth; Melbourne, Canberra and Hobart share Sydney's time.
No. Since 2024 the Board has met eight times a year, roughly every six weeks, so in 2026 there is no meeting in January, April, July or October. Before 2024 it met eleven times a year, on the first Tuesday of most months.
The day after the announcement: a change announced on a Tuesday applies from the Wednesday. Lenders then set their own dates for passing it on to variable mortgage rates.
